Here at May Community Academy we have some awesome blogging going on! Three of our teachers are blogging their lesson plans instead of using the standard lesson plan template. Benefits/goals of doing this:
1. to allow students to get a jump on what will be taught the following week
2. to receive website resources from me that students can then visit as refreshers or supplemental activities
3. to promote a sense of "classroom community and pride" as students, faculty, parents, and any other interested parties comment on the blogs
4. to become more digitally literate, enhancing students' & teachers' 21st century skills
5. to become a repository of "best practice" lessons, suggestions, and resources as teachers begin to share with each other
6. to showcase student work
I invite you to look through these 3 great examples, and consider trying this yourself! I'm sure all of the teachers would love to see comments about their work from someone other than me, so if you have a website, a lesson, or just want to say "nice job" please comment...and don't forget to comment on the Wednesday Web as well :)
